Plumbing contractors and health authorities have worked together to create a cross connection control system which prevents drinking water contamination, known as "backflow".

Water providers, such as EPCOR, will issue a letter of noncompliance when an unsatisfactory cross connection is found during an inspection.

A cross connection is a mechanical term which describes either a temporary or permanent connection between a potable (drinking) and non-potable (non-drinking) water source, where contamination from backflow could occur.

Backflow preventers are installed to avert any type of water pressure backflow or contamination. A backflow system prevents contamination and allows you to maintain a healthy supply of safe drinking water.

Save On Mechanical is certified to provide backflow preventer installation, testing, certification and repair.
